Before you book
- The catamaran sails from Kissamos port, an hour from Balos, with up to 120 travelers. Options with transfer collect you from hotels in the Chania area (the listed drop-offs include Chania and Georgioupolis), and the operator's office sends the pickup details; options without transfer meet at the port.
- Kissamos charges a €1 municipal fee per person for Balos, collected at the port from boat passengers (the figure visitors paid in 2025); the listing does not mention it. As of October 2026 Balos has no visitor cap or booking system; one was only proposed in August 2026.
- Not included: cocktails and other alcoholic drinks, entry to Gramvousa castle, sunscreen and private cabins. Only VIP tickets include a towel; others can buy one on board for €10.
